Program Director, American Explorers
Kaamel Nuri is the program director leading the American Explorers program at The Arthur M. Blank Family Foundation. In this role he oversees the comprehensive leadership development program giving youth from Atlanta’s historic Westside communities pathways to leadership. Through a collection of programs and hands-on learning experiences, American Explorers become change agents, educators, community builders, entrepreneurs and stewards of their communities.
Kaamel joined The Blank Family Foundation in 2015 from YMCA of Metropolitan Atlanta, Inc.’s Arthur M. Blank Family YMCA location where he served as Executive Director, Associate Executive Director and Program Manager. In these roles, Kaamel was responsible for overseeing program planning, fundraising, marketing and delivery of high quality and high-volume programs. Prior to the YMCA, Kaamel worked with Roxbury Youthworks, Inc., in Boston as a Program Director and Case Manager, developing youth education programming and treatment programs for adjudicated youth.
Kaamel graduated from Howard University with a bachelor’s degree in Philosophy. He enjoys biking and spending quality time with his wife and young daughter.
