Senior Program Officer
Suganthi Simon is senior program officer at The Arthur M. Blank Family Foundation. In this role, she leads the Foundation’s community development work in the historic neighborhoods on Atlanta’s Westside, leading the Westside Health and Economic Inclusion Collaboratives, as well as the Foundation’s efforts around civic empowerment and community engagement. She also serves as the Foundation’s primary liaison to the Westside Future Fund and Westside Works.
Prior to joining The Blank Family Foundation in 2014, Suganthi spent more than 14 years at the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), fulfilling her childhood dream of working in environmental science. While at the EPA she implemented pollution prevention initiatives, designed and delivered training modules around proper performance measurement and evaluation, and served as special assistant to the Deputy Regional Administrator.
Suganthi graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science from Wellesley College and a master’s degree in Industrial Environmental Management from Yale.
The unofficial office plant caretaker, Suganthi learned gardening from her father. A lifelong traveler who spent two years living in India as a child, she has been to 15 countries and five continents. Her favorite destination has been bush camping in Tanzania. Suganthi and her husband have two young boys, who they are raising to be active readers like their mom.
