Hope Rising: Granting Recovery at Crow Reservation’s First Healing Center
Mountain Shadow Association, a Native American-led nonprofit, secured a $750,000 grant from the AMB West Community Fund to establish the Crow Reservation’s inaugural Family Healing Center in Lodge Grass, Montana, for families battling substance abuse. The center employs Indigenous values and systems to promote justice, equality and wellness. Its holistic approach involves engaging young families in restorative/relational justice, addressing trauma and fostering a healthy Native parent identity. The center supports reunification from foster care through comprehensive emotional, social, educational, and economic assistance, aiming to lift families out of poverty and ensure their well-being.
