Lisa Zook

DIRECTOR, EFFECTIVE PHILANTHROPY & LEARNING

Lisa Zook is director of Effective Philanthropy and Learning at the Arthur M. Blank Family Foundation, where she manages the EPAL team and helps guide the foundation’s strategy, measurement, evaluation and learning. She works with colleagues and grantees to use evidence, feedback and learning to make informed decisions and strengthen their work.

Before joining the foundation, Lisa ran her own consulting firm, evaluating programs focused on health, education and poverty alleviation in international contexts. Her background in program evaluation informs her practical, collaborative approach to effective philanthropy.

Lisa holds a bachelor’s degree in mathematics from Davidson College and a master’s in global health epidemiology from the University of Michigan. She co-founded the Seattle Evaluation Association and remains active in global conversations about effective evaluation practices. In her free time, she enjoys escaping to the mountains to backpack and paddleboard with her family.
