Tyiesha Short

Sr. Program Officer, Mental Health & Well-Being

Tyiesha Short serves as Senior Program Officer, Mental Health & Well-Being, where she oversees a portfolio of grants aimed at strengthening mental health support for individuals, families, and communities.

With deep expertise in youth mental health, Tyiesha brings a wealth of experience to the foundation. She has held senior roles at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, most recently as an adolescent health policy advisor in the Office of Population Affairs, and previously as deputy director of science and policy in the Office of the U.S. Surgeon General. Tyiesha earned her bachelor’s degree in public health from the University of South Carolina and holds a master’s degree in public health from Emory University.

Outside of work, she’s an avid reader who enjoys hiking, traveling, food, and exploring new hobbies.
