Diana Champ Davis

MANAGING DIRECTOR, FINANCE AND GRANTS MANAGEMENT

Diana has 27 years of experience in accounting, finance, and business operations. The two-time Nonprofit CFO of the Year (2010 and 2020) has seventeen years of executive financial leadership in nonprofit organizations, as well as 10 years of experience in management consulting and for-profit corporate accounting and finance. Most recently Diana was the Chief Financial Officer for the Community Foundation for Greater Atlanta (CFGA). During her tenure Diana was responsible for the financial and operational components of CFGA, with a focus on the strategic management of the organization’s resources to maximize return on investment.  She led special projects to improve operational excellence, transform Board governance and launch an impact investing program.

Before the Community Foundation, Diana was the Chief Financial and Administrative Officer for Girl Scouts of Greater Atlanta. In addition to being responsible for the overall financial management, strategy and reporting for the organization, Diana managed the Risk and Administration, Information Technology and Human Resources departments.  While at the Girl Scouts she designed and implemented the annual operating planning process, led special projects on increasing operating reserves, strategic planning, debt reduction, and pension funding. Prior to joining the Girl Scouts, Diana was the CFO for the Atlanta Botanical Garden.  During this time, she issued tax exempt bonds during the Garden’s $55M expansion project and completed the due diligence and business plans for the holiday light show and the opening of a satellite location in North Georgia.  The Atlanta Botanical Garden won the Community Foundation’s 2008 Managing for Excellence award during her tenure.

Diana completed Leadership Atlanta’s leadership program in 2019.  She attended the Harvard Business School’s executive education course on Performance Measurement for Effective Management of Nonprofit organizations.  Diana is currently enrolled in Emory University’s Executive Coaching Diploma Program to obtain the Associate Certified Coach credential through the International Coach Federation.  Diana received a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Accounting from Georgia State University and a Master of Business Administration degree in Finance from Georgia State University.  She is a certified public accountant licensed in Georgia and a Society of Human Resources Management Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP).

Diana volunteers with the Nature Conservancy in Georgia, and volunteers in support of the Georgia State University WomenLead program. Diana lives in Midtown Atlanta with her husband Michael and their two English Springer Spaniels, Scout and Pappy.  They love to travel and adventure as a family.
