We Are Grateful For Our Nonprofit Partners

On behalf of the Arthur M. Blank Family Foundation, I am writing to all our nonprofit partners to express gratitude in this moment of great uncertainty.
Many of you are being called upon to step into courageous leadership in new ways. You may be facing quickly shifting funding challenges. You may be having to adjust your program offerings while still staying true to values you hold dear. You may be re-thinking and innovating your operating models. And you may be doing all of this while the people and communities you serve are experiencing social, emotional and economic uncertainty.
As you navigate these new pressures, I want you to know that we stand with you, care about you, are committed to our long-term funding priorities and want to hear from you.
We stand with you. We support your organization and the civil society of which you are a part. Nonprofits are the connective tissue that bonds us. You deliver essential services and provide a social and cultural meeting ground. Since the earliest days of our nation, voluntary and nonprofit associations have been the bedrock of our pluralistic American society, and you still are.
We see you and care about you. We have invested in your organization, and by extension, have invested in you and your team. The impact we seek requires strong leadership and execution. As we enter May as Mental Health Month, we hope you will remind your team (and yourself!) of the importance of individual and organizational mental health. I know it doesn’t feel like there is room to take a break or a breath, but we encourage you to do so even when all seems urgent.
We are steadfast in our funding priorities. As a foundation with deeply-held values, we remain committed to our collective giving strategies and investing in the people, places and projects meaningful to our chairman Arthur Blank. We are continuing to increase our overall grantmaking. We have made bold choices in our funding priorities, and they are commitments from which we will not back down.
We want to hear from you. We recognize that every organization is unique, with different capacities and circumstances. Of course, no funder can fill federal funding gaps, but we are most effective when we listen to you.
Again, thank you and your teams for all you do every day to heal and repair the world in big and small ways.
With great appreciation,
Fay Twersky
